Windsor Folk has proudly hosted monthly performances for the past 26 years at the historic Mackenzie Hall Cultural Centre, which is located at 3277 Sandwich Street West, in Windsor.
Mackenzie Hall was built in 1855-1856 by Alexander Mackenzie, who became the second Prime Minister of Canada in 1873.
As a not for profit organization, we strive to offer a warm and inviting listening space for audiences and performers alike. We welcome both beginner and seasoned musicians to perform in our coffee-house-like setting.
Our audiences help support this wonderful venue with our ‘pass the hat’ policy. Funds are used to rent our beautiful space, replace audio and lighting equipment, pay for promotional costs, and provide baked goods at our concession. We also encourage our patrons to ‘ go green’ and bring their own coffee mug. Ours is an inclusive and wheelchair accessible venue.
The Windsor and surrounding area is full of talented seasoned and aspiring young musicians.
As a result, Windsor Folk continues to offer audiences a vibrant lineup of local and distant musicians every month. There is no cost to attend other than to contribute to our pass-the-hat policy to support our venue. We welcome your feedback and questions.
Windsor Folk is the best of grassroots community support in a great historical setting. It is the place I grew my songwriting and performance skills. It’s one of my favorite listening rooms because folks really listen!
The Windsor Folk Music & Arts Society is one of the best places in Ontario to see local music. The audience is attentive, the executive members are very supportive and the Friday night Acoustic Stage evening is professionally run. I have performed at the Acoustic Stage and in the Showcase Concerts as a feature performer, and the experience has always been wonderful!
I always look forward to playing for a supportive crowd that really listens to the songs, and the good people at Windsor Folk do just that.
Awesome experience when we played Windsor Folk. We met wonderful people, the audience was a great listening audience, and the volunteers treated us so well. Everyone really cared and it showed.
The crew, the crowd and the fellow performers at Windsor Folk were all so friendly and supportive. It is a terrific music loving community and a great night out for sure!
I have enjoyed sharing my Music with my Friends at Windsor Folk for many years . They (WF) provide a very needed stage for promoting Local Singer/Songwriters & Musicians & Poets while also Encouraging all ages of Artists to learn the Art of Performance
Windsor Folk is best at providing a great evening of entertainment in the wonderful Mackenzie Hall. Love spending a Friday evening enjoying the wonderful talent!
